God Works Through People
About This Sermon
Steven Morris teaches from Nehemiah 11–12 to finish the book of Nehemiah. He shows that God works through ordinary people who put His kingdom above their own comfort and safety. Some Israelites moved into Jerusalem at personal disadvantage because the city represented God's presence and glory. The long list of names in these chapters is not filler but a declaration of God's faithfulness across generations through normal, seemingly insignificant people.
The message also highlights how God's joy becomes visible and audible through His people. The celebration on the completed wall turned what enemies mocked as fragile into a stage for worship. This joy is a response to God's faithfulness, it spreads through families, and it serves as a witness to the nations that the Lord has done great things.
