Student Ministry

From Stephen Trammell

Justin HolcombLet me first thank you for continuing to pursue God and for staying connected during this time. Although the past couple of months have been trying, CFBC is continuing to see our people grow in the Lord and see new people reached with the gospel through our online presence. One thing is certain: God's timing is always perfect!

With this truth in mind, we wanted to update you on some exciting news in our student ministry!

First, we have been praying and having great conversations over the past few months with our current Champions Student Pastor, Alec Brunson. The Lord has clarified Alec's next ministry assignment and we are excited about it. He'll be staying in the Champion Forest family and will be pastoring alongside Chris Smartt in Conroe where he'll get to shepherd the flock and preach the Word with the intention of him becoming the lead pastor of Conroe in English! Chris Smartt is preparing for his future as a Chaplain in the U.S. Navy. We are excited for both Chris and Alec as we continue to reach the people in the shadow of Conroe's steeple.

Now, we are incredibly blessed to be able to introduce Justin Holcomb!

Justin is our new Champions Student Pastor & will also serve as our Global Student Pastor to invest in our student teams at each campus.

Remember, God's timing is always perfect and God has brought Justin to Champion Forest at the perfect time. He is going to be a great part of our team. I want to give him an opportunity here to share a bit about himself...

Justin Holcomb's Family

Hey Champion Forest Family!
So, let's go ahead and admit that this is probably the most awkward, unique and maybe even frustrating way to hear about change! I get it and truly wish this was happening in person. With all of that being said, let me introduce myself and family as well as let you get a glimpse of my passion for students.

My name is Justin Holcomb and I had the honor of marrying my incredible wife Lisa, 17 years ago. The Lord has gifted us with 4 kiddos to love and disciple...Addyson is 12 and finishing 7th grade, Riley is 10 and completing 4th grade, Brady is 9 and almost done with 3rd grade and Gentry is 5! Two of our kids were born in Georgia and two in Houston.

I was born and raised in Georgia while Lisa moved around but spent most of her years in Mississippi. We met and fell in love the summer of our Senior year of college while working for a summer camp based out of Nashville, TN. Both of us grew up in Christian homes and attended Christian colleges which really formed our love for the local church and student ministry specifically.

We have been loving on students and families for almost 18 years full-time and consider it a joy to do so. Our past 6 years have had us in Houston at Houston's First Baptist Church where I served as the Minister to Students at the Loop Campus. We loved our time there but, in the Fall, we began to feel a stirring for something else. Champion Forest approached us about the possibility of coming on board and through many moments on our knees and restless nights we believe He has led us to you all!

Lisa and I both have a passion to see as many students as possible fall in love with The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I truly believe that when students encounter Jesus and begin walking with Him, the world around them can and will change! We look forward to building relationships with you and your families. We love going to student's games, sharing meals, opening our home, and having conversations about the important things in life.

We are pumped to join the Champion Forest team and begin our journey with each of you! Our desire is to get to know you all as fast as possible, even in our current situation with Covid-19. Let's get creative and connect!

Our goal: To see students follow Jesus for a lifetime. We do that by partnering with parents to disciple their students.

Middle School

6th - 8th Grade

Middle School Our desire for the Middle School Ministry at Champion Forest is to get students excited about the gospel of Jesus! We know that during the middle school years, students start to come into their own. Our heart is to establish a firm foundation in their lives based on Christ. We want them to grow and build on that foundation and desire to see them become passionate followers of Christ who are equipped to impact their world for Jesus.

High School

9th - 12th Grade

children Our desire for the High School Ministry is to be a place where students come to know the Lord in a deep and real way. We believe that high school is a crucial part of students’ lives where decisions and choices are made that will have a huge impact on the rest of their lives. Our goal is that every high school student involved with CFBC will grow into a passionate Christ follower, and be equipped and trained to go out into their world and make an impact for the Lord.
