About This Sermon
Pastor Steven Morris teaches from Nehemiah 5–7 on Commitment Sunday, showing how generosity flows from seeing our lives and resources through God's eyes. Nehemiah refused the governor's food allowance, fed 150 people daily at his own expense, and held what God had given him with an open hand. When God's people worked together, the wall was finished in 52 days, and the nations saw that God had helped them. The people's giving to "the treasury of the work" displayed their faith in God's mission, in one another, and in the future He was building.
Steven reminds us that what we have belongs to the Lord. We hold it for a season and are entrusted with it for a reason. Our giving is not merely about construction or campaigns. It is an act of worship and faith that says God's work, His people, and His promises are worth investing in.
