1 Peter 4:1-10

Stewards of God’s Grace

Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:

  4. It is such a blessing to be reading this with so many of my sisters and brothers in Christ. May God’s word strengthen us for the battle and today I take on the full armor of God that protects us for the fiery darts of the enemy.

  5. Lord, You suffered agony and death on the cross, triumphing over sin and death to redeem a people for Yourself. You chose the will of God above all. And I want to live out my days walking with You by Your grace in total trust and obedience, loving and serving others, making You known in all my ways.

  6. 7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Amen

  7. I’m striving every day to follow God’s direction to use the gifts He has given me and the path that He provides to serve others.

  8. Thank you God I am following your will for my life. I am on a new path since I lost my husband and moving out of my house. I did not want to leave my house but know you have a new direction for me to go in.

  9. Dear Father let us learn obedience through the things we suffer as did Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesud Christ that we may follow the lead of the Holy Spirit, being done with sin so that we may be free to fulfill your will to use the gifts You have given us to love others as we do ourselves. Praise You Name!

  10. Father God, make me a vessel of Your love and allow me to pour it out on all those you bring across my path.

  11. Father help me to be willing for you to controll me. That is the only way I can control myself for your use. Help me be your light.

  12. My prayer is that we all focus daily on living in the spirit as God does! Lifting each other up in continued prayer for Unity and Love in our churches, so that we can be God’s example to His world!

  13. Something that I have learned about this walk with Christ is that is a choice…sounds so critical, yet so difficult….choose God or choose yourself. I pray that myself and every believer, will continue to choose God and His will.

  14. Amen. This is such a good reading for a Friday. Blessed are the followers of Christ!!

  15. Thank you Lord for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin! And thank you for giving us power over sin. We do not have to continue in sin!

  16. Love covers a multitude of sins. Live with a servant heart. Fully experience the joy of the Lord. Thank you Jesus for showing me how to live!❤
