Colossians 1:15-23

The Preeminence of Christ

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

  1. “all things were created through Him and for Him.” –
Lord, thank You for creating me for Your good purposes. Help me live for You alone.

  2. Amazing that Christ presents us as believers Holy and Blameless and above reproach before the Father.

  3. Thank you Lord for giving yourself for me so that I may live a blameless, reconciled life. May I always remember your sacrifice and may my actions and deeds be forever pleasing in your sight. Amen.

    1. I agree with what I just read. Thank you Lord for being in my life.🙏🏻✝🙏🏻✝💜💜

  4. Lord, thank you for reconciliation. Help me to live and walk in obedience and “continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel” through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen

  5. . 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”

As Believers we need to be mindful not to boast about what we have or what we’ve done. REMEMBER: ALL things were created by and for God—we should ALWAYS give HIM the GLORY!!!!

  6. All things……All. What a big word. Just take time today to look around you and take in All that He has created. That beautiful sunrise yesterday……that flower that is blooming…….my sweet wild puppy. He created it all…..for His glory. I love that HE goes before me. He’s the one who holds everything together. What an awesome God and Father we have!

  7. “And in Him all things hold together”
Jesus holds it all together, He is in control, no matter what evil tries to do, HE WAS, IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN CONTROL!
Lord Jesus, my hope is in You!

  8. I will continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel…

  9. “Holy and blameless”…..thank You most gracious Father. I am nothing. YOU are everything. ♥️

  10. Can you put link button to previous and next day on the display. I think this would be great if you missed a day or so and wanted to go back.

  11. All things He created. If anyone knows He knows because He created it. When He created you He knew your out come. You are the apple of His eye.

  12. Lord God, please help me to always remember that You are superior to everything. That everything was created by You and for You and that You hold it all together! Including me! And You present me holy and blameless before the throne of God! Thank you Jesus! May my life be a continual offering of praise to YOU alone.

  13. People often want to know what God is like, and the Bible is quite clear. Look to Jesus. So thankful that while we were hostile to Him and separated from Him, He still willingly gave Himself. Every time I read this section of Colossians, I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.

  14. “Holy and blameless.” I am still overcome at all the Lord Jesus Christ has given us as believers, His children! He took me in my utter lostness and reconciled me to God by His death on the cross to present me holy and blameless and above reproach before Him- because of His righteousness- making me a new creation.
My life now is His, lived out in faith and love and gratitude and hope .

  15. There is no other way to you. Thankyou for loving me enough to make a way for me to come to you.

  16. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

I am in awe… Whatever we are going through…from the least to the most trying situation, He was before it… He can handle it… Give it to Him… He is our Helper. Rest in Him and He’ll hold it all together.

    Amen

  17. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

He is King of King and Lord of Lords. 100 % God and 100% man at the same time without partially, mixture, division, or separation. Our story begins with Him and continues with Him throughout eternity. He can and will reconcile anything He desires to Himself according to His prerogative and purpose. All who trust in Him receive the peace of God who reconciled us through the cross.
Satan, nor principalities nor powers nor evil men, nor circumstances, nor sin, nor anything in the universe can stop Him or His timeless Gospel.

He has been and always will be LORD of ALL. Crown Him with many Crowns!!!!

  18. He makes all things new!!
Through the precious blood of Jesus we are all made néw. The old is gone.
He came to reconcile all things to himself through the blood of His cross.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1
I am also reminded through this passage that He is
the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. (Rev 1:8, 22:13)
Verse 23 of this passage prompted me to read Ephesians 4 where Paul talks about unity and maturity in the body of Christ, that we won’t be like infants tossed to and fro by the waves… (trials of life)

  19. thank You LORD JESUS for being the King of Kings and ruler of aii. It is awsome that you would do this me and all Believers AMEN

  20. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. This stuck out to me thank God he holds us all together, not only us but everything created.

  21. Thankful for the peace that was purchased through his blood on the cross. What a thing to think about.

  22. God created each of us uniquely so that we could serve Him in our area or situation of life. We have purpose because He created us!

  23. Not shifting from the hope of the gospel… So let me get this straight… if we don’t fix our eyes on Jesus we can drift away to the world and it’s idols. I can see that. In the Old Testament leaders would mark significant miracles God did for His people by placing stones and words on the stones. This served as a remembrance to future generations so that they would not stray. What stones of remembrance are in your life that can serve as an inspiration to yourself and others in times when lack of hope is all around us?

  24. The Son is the beginning of creation and the end of creation and the power who holds creation together.

  25. God’s perfect plan set in place from before the beginning….never changing or wavering. Impossible for us to imagine, requiring only acceptance of His gift of salvation to be a part of it.
    Such incredible Good News!

  26. and in Him all things hold together…… God I trust in you especially when I feel this world unraveling. You are our hope and our joy.
