About This Sermon
Jarrett Stephens teaches from John 17 on the power of intercessory prayer. Jesus prays first for his own glorification, which means going to the cross. Then he prays for his disciples' protection and sanctification, not asking God to remove them from the world but to preserve them in it. Finally, he prays for future believers, praying for unity around truth and for our ultimate glorification with him.
Jarrett reminds us that Jesus is still praying for us right now. Hebrews 7:25 says he always lives to make intercession. Because Jesus prayed for us and continues to pray for us, we can be confident God hears and answers. And if Jesus prayed for others, we should too.
