This psalm celebrates God, the King of Glory, and his holiness. It begins recounting God as Maker and Creator and highlighting God’s personal involvement in all aspects of life, from the biggest mountains to the tiniest molecule.

Then, there is a shift to knowing this God who is holy and highly exalted. As a sinful person, David knows there is a problem: mankind needs clean hands and a pure heart, and this cannot be acquired through traditions or rituals. Those who seek God need his righteousness.

The King of Glory must come, and in the person of Jesus he made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can come to him!

Psalm 24

The King of Glory
A Psalm of David.

1 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah

Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah

Prayer:

God, thank You for making me and this world. I’m grateful that You care for every part of it, especially my personal world.

You are bigger than any problem or struggle I have, and I trust You with all of it. I want to love and seek You more. Thank You for making a way through Jesus.

Examine my heart for anything that is unclean, impure, or false, and give me the courage to confess it and repent from it. You are the King of Glory, the Lord of Hosts, and I will exalt You today!

Amen.

All praise and glory is for You, Lord. Your name is to be praised every day for You are our Lord and our King. We came from dust and we will return to dust. We are not worthy, yet You chose us. My prayer is for eyes to be opened and ears to hear Your voice tenderly calling them to come to You. All other gods are superficial and not lasting. You, Father are Eternal and the One and Only True God, our Creator. Every knee should bow and every mouth should praise You at the sound or the very mention of Your Name. May every knee bow down and recognize You as Messiah. You are our Savior. Savior of the world. Savior and Deliver from all sickness. In Your Name I say Glory to Jesus in the Highest.

  14. From the very beginning of this psalm, we are reminded that God’s got this. We are His creation, as is this earth and everything in it and outside of it. He calls us and when we choose to believe, accept, and seek Him, then we find Him.
    ⚘?⚘?
Life with Him is like doing the tango with the strongest partner. There is beauty and rhythm. He supports us through the tough moves and quick turns. He will never let go, and even maintains His stature if we do. There is no deeper love or lover (agape).
    ❤??❤??

  15. Psalms 24
Lord, our God, how excellent is thy name in all the earth. Your people parish for lack of knowledge!? Give us wisdom this day. As we, Your people, seek Your face, give us much grace and mercy as You Lead us. We humbly rejoice and lift our hands in surrendering all we have (love ones, co-workers, leaders, the saved and the unsaved, all we have You have provided) ‘that the King of Glory May come in… Our Lord, strong and mighty…the Lord of Host’! The GREAT I AM!!! In Jesus Holy name, AMEN❤️

  16. Lord, you made me and I am yours. Thank you for seeking me that I may seek you, and for giving me your righteousness. I open the gates of my life to you that you may come in and rule as the King of Glory. Amen.

  17. Here is a testimony from my life
A treatment for coronavirus seen on the news has brought back to mind something specific about Lassa Virus.
Lassa Virus started in 1969 when a Nigerian lady came in from the bush to a small mission hospital in Lassa. (I was born and raised in Nigeria. In 1969 I was in third grade and my dad was the missionary doctor in Garkida.) That lady recovered and left but the American nurse treating her caught it. She was taken to a better equipped hospital in Jos. That nurse–Miss Laura Wine—dies. The American doctor, Dr Trout, and nurse and Nigerian staff treating her also caught the disease and most died. The American nurse—Miss Penny—was flown to Columbia University hospital along with autopsy samples that my Dad collected from Miss Wine that we’re being sent to the CDC for study. A researcher at CDC contracts the disease but is treated with antibodies from Miss Penny’s blood and he survives. Because she has recovered and overcome the virus, Miss Penny was sent back to Nigeria along with a centrifuge to spin down her blood to extract the antibodies in the plasma. People receiving her antibodies now also survived the disease. Lassa virus went from being a 90% plus death rate to 100% treatable with antibodies from the survivor.
Sin has a 100% death rate but there IS one survivor of sin’s penalty: his name is Jesus. Because he overcame death, if we accept his blood we too can overcome. With Jesus’s blood, sin with a 100% death rate becomes 100% survivable.
Do you see? That is why Jesus is THE ONLY WAY–there is no other who has overcome death and can impart his ability to overcome(righteousness) to us. Because sin has a 100% death rate there is NOTHING you can DO on your own to survive it- no amount of good, no good deeds or acts of random kindness, no better ventilator that you can build, no amount of vitamins nor exercise that you can do will make a difference in escaping the penalty of sin… only Jesus’s blood shed for you!

    1. Wonderful analogy my sister.
Sin has 100 % death rate.
Jesus is the bread of life. His blood washes away our sins.
      Alleluiah Amen!!

  18. Oh Lord, You are mighty & strong! Thank you for everything you do for me oh King of Glory! In Jesus Name, Amen

  19. My Father,
I thank you for opening my eyes to always see Your creation and all who dwell here on earth and pray with me. Thank you for Judy, Samone and all whom you’ve blessed me with in Your place of worship. Create in me a pure heart, O God and grant me a willing spirit to carry the pressures in my life.
I thank you my Lord for giving me strength in my weakness, faith when fear arises and power when I’m powerless.
You are the King of Glory!

    In Jesus name, Amen.

  20. 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Gracious Lord Jesus, create in me a clean heart and continue to teach me your ways. Make my like an offering of praise to you!

  21. Thank you Lord for your gift of Jesus your son who paved the way to my salvation. Thank you for all you do, for you are the almighty God. Let everything I say and do be for your glory. Amen

  23. “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,” Great reminder!

  24. You are my Lord, you are my love. I want to seek you more, help me, I want worship, serve you. I need know you more… thank you my God, you are my all.

  25. Thank you Lord, king of kings I seek your kingdom and your righteousness
