In the scope of the passion week, we have the least amount written about Saturday. There is silence… yet we have hope knowing that Jesus predicted that He would rise on the third day! As we read the account of Jesus’ burial, we wait and anticipate the Resurrection!

John 19:38-42

Jesus Is Buried

38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body. 39 Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. 40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.

We know that in the timeline, Jesus is in the grave, but the story doesn’t end there! In response today let’s do everything we can to proclaim the Good News of the Resurrection of Jesus! (post your testimony, invite people to join you online, etc.)

  1. A lot can happen in 3 days. Hope all the shared testimonies bring many to our service on Sunday. Jesus Can Change Your Life!

  2. God was at work, even though we couldn’t see Him. Just like He is today and every day.

  3. This may be one of, if not the most, memorable Easter weekends of my life. However, no matter what has has already, or will happen, what does not change and that we can trust, is that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive. I can’t wait to celebrate our faith in that fact tomorrow, with my family in our home.

  4. Just wait til morning! Tears may be during the night but joy cometh in the morning! What a day of celebration then and now as we see the sun(SON)rise in the morning! Thank God, JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL,

    1. As the song says, The Son will come suddenly and fierce. Every prophet and priest and King in the city will look on the One we have pierced.

  5. Jesus is willing and waiting for you. What are you waiting for? Come accept that he is your Lord and Savior. He forgives all no matter where you’ve been, what you’ve done, or what you’re about. He forgive all sins. Just knock at his door and he will answer. I promise you will receive a peace that surpasses any understanding. You will be transformed into a Christ like person with a heart of gold. You will be so radiant that all who see you will see the Christ in you and will want what you have. I pray for your forgiveness and for the knowledge of understanding because as your sister in Christ I want to see you in heaven. I love you as Christ loves you. In Jesus Name. Amen.

  6. My testimony, along with countless of other’s, can be found on social media under the hashtag #JesusChangeMyLife.
