About This Sermon
Steven Morris teaches from Luke 10:25-37 in a message called "Loving our Community." A lawyer tests Jesus by asking how to inherit eternal life, and Jesus points him back to Scripture: love God with all you are and love your neighbor as yourself. But knowing God's commands is not enough. Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan to show that neighbor-love means moving toward need, not away from it.
The Samaritan had gut-level compassion, spent his own time and money, and personally got involved. Jesus redefines "neighbor" from a noun to a verb. For those who know Jesus as Savior, love is the fruit that proves the relationship is real. Steven calls believers to go hands-on in their everyday lives, whether through church ministries or simply seeing the needs God places in their path.
