Jesus Brings Understanding
About This Sermon
Jarrett Stephens teaches from Luke 24:13-35, the road to Emmaus, showing how Jesus meets confused and discouraged disciples with understanding. After the shock of the crucifixion, two disciples walked away from Jerusalem feeling disillusioned. Jesus drew near, but instead of revealing himself immediately, he opened the Scriptures to them and walked with them over time.
Jarrett offers three warnings for seasons of confusion: don't isolate yourself, don't give in to discouragement, and don't quit on Jesus. He then shows how Jesus brings understanding through Scripture, over time, and in community. The resurrection means there is always hope, even when we cannot yet see what God is doing.
