The evening

Gratitude, reflection, celebration

This night will be a time of gratitude, reflection, and celebration. We’ll sing patriotic songs, remember the gift of freedom, and thank God for the blessings we have experienced in this country. We’ll also hear from Robert J. Morgan—pastor, bestselling author, and a familiar friend here at Champion Forest. Drawing from his book 100 Bible Verses That Made America, he’ll open up the ways Scripture has threaded through pivotal moments in our national story so we can thank God with both heart and mind.

As followers of Jesus, our highest allegiance is to Christ. At the same time, we can humbly give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy, pray for our nation, and ask God to help us live faithfully in our generation.

Robert J. Morgan

Bestselling author of 100 Bible Verses That Made America — Scripture, history, and the American story

We’re honored to welcome Robert J. Morgan back to Champion Forest for America 250.

Robert is a pastor, author, and gifted storyteller whose ministry has encouraged our church many times over the years. In his book 100 Bible Verses That Made America, he explores the role Scripture has played in key moments throughout our nation’s history.

As we mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Robert will help us reflect with gratitude, remember with humility, and keep our hearts centered on Christ.

Our heart

We gather first as disciples of Jesus—giving thanks with humility, singing with joy, and listening with open hearts as we consider how God’s Word has shaped our country and how we can walk faithfully in our own moment in history.
