Love is one of the most misused and misunderstood words in the English language. For some it means some kind of warm fuzzy feeling toward someone and for others it just means a physical relationship.
But the love of God, that which he is and has toward us, is shown in both words and action. It is that which seeks the good of another, always looking for the best interest of others.
But love is only a part of the nature of God. He is also faithful and cannot lie. His righteousness cannot be changed or broken – regardless of the situation. His justice is demanding and must be fulfilled. All of these make up the true nature of God, the essence of who he is. His nature determines his actions.
His righteousness does not allow him to be in fellowship with those who do not submit to his will. The justice of God demands that sin be punished. Sin demands death.
But in his love he gave Jesus, his Son to live as one of us and then die for our sin! Thus, God is true to himself. Since we belong to God and are to be like him, we love each other with the same love that Jesus has loved us!

How Precious Is Your Steadfast Love
To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord.
1 Transgression speaks to the wicked
deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God
before his eyes.
2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes
that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
3 The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
4 He plots trouble while on his bed;
he sets himself in a way that is not good;
he does not reject evil.
5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
your judgments are like the great deep;

7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Prayer:
Thank you God for your love that is beyond my ability to really understand. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be yours and to have the promise of eternal life with you when I go to heaven.
Make your love so real in my heart that I will love others just as you have loved me. Help me open my heart to your Spirit so he can mold and shape me to be more like you every day.
Please use me to help others be strong as they seek to overcome sin and live for you. Empower all of us to win each battle against the evil one every day as we put you first in all things.
I pray this in the name of Jesus! Amen.

This devotional moved me to tears. I was reminded of the different kinds of love we have for one another. The love for my Mother when I waa growing up! When we adopted our first child, when we lost him to suicide, when our other child was diagnosed with a Bipolar disorder, and our granddaughter with panic attacks which led her down the path of alcohol and drug addictions…..my heart was so full of love for them because of the pain they all suffered. It broke my heart in a million pieces. But God …… in his infinite mercy has once again overpowered me with His love, grace and mercy! His love overshadows all the ugliness and heartaches that we go through! Praise God, for he has shown me the light of day! I will honor Him all the days of my life!

Dear Heavenly Father,
At a very early age as a child I was taught that God is Love and Jesus Loves Me. That is the most important thing to know about You, Lord…that You are Love. You loved us so much that you gave us your only son to die for our sins. Faith, Hope and Love are noble things but the greatest of these is Love. Without love we are nothing, have nothing and can be nothing. I want to be a vessel and an instrument for Your love and glory. Please help me to always be mindful of You and Your will, not mine. Lord, I am reminded of a song I learned at a young age about your love. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and everyone lovez is born of God, and knoweth God. He who loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is love. Beloved let love one another.” 1 John 4:7-8.
If we do show love we are not of God for the essence of who God is, is love. Today, let your love fill my heart and extend to anyone that comes in my area. That the light of love from you would shine from me help others see in their darkness. Thank you for your love that I do not deserve but you love me anyway. Let me an example today of that kind of love.

Dear Heavenly Father, Restorer of my soul,
Thank you for pouring out Your precious love over me, and for saving my soul. Your love is more than I can comprehend — it’s vast and unfailing — never-ending and true.
Forgive me when I turn from You and look to myself for what I think I need.
Let me stay focused on You today and Your faithfulness that reaches beyond the clouds. I pray Your love and light that lives within me would grow deeper and shine brighter and gently draw others to You.

Thank you Lord for your love I feel in my heart that I may share that same love to brings others to you.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,against the authorities,against the powers of this dark world, and agaist the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms, therefore, we put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes we may be able to stand our ground.And after we have done everyhing to stand our ground.
Therefore we stand dear Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for your strength to withstand the onslaught of the evil one against your people. HELP us Lord help us for neither of us can stand with out your help.
In Christ we all stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness. the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.

Opportunities present themselves to me every day and I am faced with choices. Let me always recognize and reject those that involve doing evil. May I, like Jesus, always do what is pleasing in your sight, my Father.

Heavenly Father,
I thank you for the hope in my life that is able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness I experience in life. God, You are faithful even when we are not.
I thank you for the light of Jesus that breaks through all darkness and always brings me back to You.
In Your light, I find safety an refuge through the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for Your vessel’s that You put in my life to show me who is my Father in Heaven and Earth.
I thank you for inviting me to join You in Your work to share Your light and love to family, friends and strangers.

It is interesting that today’s Psalm is about Love. I woke up this morning with Danny Gokey’s song called Love God Love People in my head and of course I had to listen to it. It truly blows my mind how much God loves us and shows no favoritism.

For me Love is best described in John 3:16- For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believ th in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Thank You Father God forYour great love for the world, thank You Jesus for what You have done at the cross, thank You for Your obedience to lay down Your life for us and thank You for Your resurrection, without it we won’t have eternal life.

This has been an awesome time, reading God’s Word, and praying with each of you. Thank you for sharing. Have you noticed throughout our reading how many times the term STEADFAST LOVE has been repeated? Praise God, for His steadfast love for us. May we let others see Jesus in us and come to know His steadfast love.

Yes, love is the nature if God. But let’s not forget that above all else, God is holy. The Bible speaks more His holiness than any other attribute. There are things that God hates, there are occasions where He is angry. But there is never a time that God is not holy. He is HOLY, HOLY, HOLY.

Thank You for meeting me where I am. Thank You for teaching me how to love, by example. Thank You for Your unwavering character and consistency ❤

Thank you for your unfailing love. Where would I be without it? Even when I don’t “feel” it, it is there because You ARE love! Thank you for putting people in my life that remind me and show me that You love me and that I am important to You. Help me to, in turn, show that love to others! So many people don’t know You, or do know about You, but don’t realize that they are precious to You. Help me to look beyond my self, to seek out others who need to experience Your perfect love.
Father, Your Compassion and Grace has no bounds. Even when I didn’t know you, You always drew me to Yourself. You pulled me out of many near death experiences and set me on Solid ground. I praise You Father for never giving up on me. Thank you for your mercy and love that has no end.
