Imagine. There was a moment in which the sun sparked into light for the first time. A moment when the first blade of grass emerged through the skin of a new earth. A moment when the bird first learned its song and animals first took steps. A moment when the night sky first appeared in its grandeur and the smallest cell first demonstrated its intricate design.

Before all of this, God was. He spoke and it all became. He breathed and life began.

The Psalmist reminds us here that our salvation is not in kings or armies or military might, but only in God, the Creator of all. So, let Him be your help and shield! And If God has chosen us in Christ to be His people, how can we not rejoice? How can we not give thanks? How can we not sing and shout for joy?

Read this Psalm with a heart of gratitude and joy! Our God is bigger than any pandemic, and our hope is in Him. Remember how great He is and how much He loves you!

Psalm 33

The Steadfast Love of the Lord

1 Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
    Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
    make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
Sing to him a new song;
    play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

For the word of the Lord is upright,
    and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
    and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
    he puts the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
    let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
For he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
    he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
    the plans of his heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

13 The Lord looks down from heaven;
    he sees all the children of man;
14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out
    on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all
    and observes all their deeds.
16 The king is not saved by his great army;
    a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
    and by its great might it cannot rescue.

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 that he may deliver their soul from death
    and keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
    he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart is glad in him,
    because we trust in his holy name.
22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.

  6. Dear Heavenly Father,
    As I awake this morning and look out into the day, I am reminded , that even with this pandemic, You are still on Your throne and all is right with the world! I can find hope and peace in that. When I get discouraged and afraid or when difficult circumstances arise, I keep saying over and over, God will provide , God will provide. When You look down from heaven, I want You to see Your faithful pleasing you. All the heavens and the earth should praise Your Holy name! You are our Creator, Our Lord, our Savior and our Friend. We all should say, today is the Lord’s . Let us rejoice in it! Please Lord, help me to always put Your will before mine and make the meditations of my heart and the words of my mouth be ever pleasing to Thee. Please forgive me for ever letting mere things of this world hold more importance than the love of You, Lord. All I need is You. I know You are watching me and are covering me with Your protection and love. In this I can find peace and joy! Amen.

  13. Thank you dear Lord for your plan of Salvation. Your great love for us is on display in all of your creation. The wonders of it tell the truth of who you are. Eternity is not enough to hold your praise , we are unable to give you the praise due you.
    This morning, I find confirmation in the words of Psalm 33, verse 18 and 19. Recent themes of bible literacy class and Sunday sermons flew into my mind as I was pondering the way the story of Israel in bondage in Egypt, their deliverance and on their way to the promised land , famine struck, but you provided manna from heaven. I remember how early in the first weeks of the pandemic how water and items were flying off the shelves and people were in a panic expecting certain famine
    Well now we have faith in God but I will never submit to that kind of fear again. For your love provides manna for your people for sure.
    . Our Christian lives were FORE shadowed by Israel’s struggles We pray we do not grumble like them but receive your gift of manna in the days ahead of us with grateful hearts
    .Psalm 33……
    Verse 19 ” That he may deliver their soul from death AND KEEP THEM ALIVE IN FAMINE?
    Thus ,we glorify you with thankful hearts Oh Lord God Almighty. ” Jehovah Jireh” Amen.?

  14. America has become proud as the world’s superpower. “Make America great!” is our battle cry; “America first,” our slogan. We have forgotten that greatness is in service and humility. God knows how to humble us for our own good and for his glory. Let us humble ourselves in fasting and prayer, seeking his face and turning from our wicked ways.

  15. V. 4 in the NLT reads, “For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.” I pray your Spirit leads me today to trust you more in every aspect of my life.

  16. Day 17! So encouraged to see how many of us are still going. Way to go guys!

  17. You’re a good good Father, that’s Who You are……
    I am loved by You, that’s who I am….

  18. Lord, thank you for helping me and protecting me. Please be with the people who are helping us fight this virus – please protect them!

  19. Great is thy faithfulness oh Lord! You give us peace in the midst of the pandemic and hope where there’s uncertainty. Thank You for Your loving kindness.

  20. Heavenly Father,
    Thank you for Genesis 1:2, You’ve written in my heart that the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters, as in Deuteronomy 32:11-12, You teach me that You do not always explain the disturbances in this world but You assure me of Yourself and Your love for me.
    I thank you for keeping us safe not just from this pandemic but all these years of our lives. May we have faith and trust in You always as You hover over us no matter what we face each day. I love You my Lord!

    In Jesus name, Amen,

  21. Thank you Father for you assurance every moment, of every day, that you are in control.Nothing or no one can provide the steadfast Love as you. You alone know all things, and you alone have created all things. You are a Just God and your Glory is immeasurable and it illuminates from the east to the west. You breathed life into Adam, one word from you and you calmed the winds, you called Lazarus from death to life. You, alone have the right to call all men to you and how you achieve it is your plan alone, and if it is through a worldwide pandemic, so be it. Father, we have become a godless nation and you have permitted it to go on, but now hopefully every nation will go on blended knee and seek your face and forgiveness, for repentance is our only hope. Praise you God and Thank You Jesus, in whose name I pray.

  22. Lord, I praise you for answering my prayers for my daughter’s easy delivery of a healthy baby daughter yesterday. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen

  23. Thank lord for your steadfast love,today lord help me to guard my heart and walk in your counsel oh lord.

  24. Praying for all of those affected by these circumstances. Let them know He is there.
