1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 & 5:1-11

The Coming of the Lord

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

The Day of the Lord

Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

    1. I am ready. I am a child of God and of light. Hallelujah and Amen 🙌🏻💜🙏🏻✝

  1. The King is coming fulfilling 1,845 prophecies from Old and New Testaments. How to get ready for the rapture: get saved, win souls, be sanctified, and be faithful each day.

  2. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are left will be caught up with them to meet Him in the air.
    How amazing is that?

Jesus, Help me to do everything you want me to do each day so I will be ready to go.

    Thank you , Lord Jesus.

  3. Praise the day of the Lord. It will come without warning and will take all believers with the lord . Those that are alive and those that sleep by the power of the lord.

  4. Heavenly Father,

As I see the lightning flashes and hear the rolling thunder, I pause in your presence, oh Almighty ONE, the creator of the universe.

Thank you, dear LORD, for thinking of even me. Who am I that you would be my GOD?

Who am I to be called a watchman on the wall? Who I am to have a trumpet to sound? Who am I to call out warnings to your people?

I humbly fall at your feet, crying out, who am I?

The world is so dark. The devil and his minions are so active. How can I stand, O LORD?

Father, I cannot. Father, I cannot in my own strength, in my own power, in my own wisdom. Father, I cannot.

But with you, O LORD, infilled with your Holy Spirit, walking in faithfulness and your righteousness, we can.

We can, O LORD, point to your word. Speak through me words of warning, words of admonition, words of rebuke, words of truth.

We can, O LORD, call out to the lost, to the wanderers. We can shine the true, pure light of your Son for all to see.

Father, open their ears to hear. Open their hearts to accept. Save many today, O LORD, save many today.

And, Father, if you give me tomorrow, may I humbly thank you for yet another day. May I fall at your feet and plea for your Holy Spirit to guide and direct.

Until the trumpet sounds, or you call me home, may you find me faithful.

In the righteousness of your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray,

    Amen.

  5. Dear Jesus let us be in wait looking for your return, my prayers are that we be ready day or night .

  6. This is a great message for us today; “dead in CHRIST” will be raised to join the living believers & be caught up to greet JESUS & will be w/HIM forever. Encourage each other w/these words. No one knows when JESUS’ return will be. To the believers it brings joy, to the unbeliever it brings destruction. We are in the “Churchage” b/t the Pentecost & the Rapture. It’s called (the Day of Man). But once the Rapture happens it’s no longer the Day of Man; it’s “the Day of the LORD” & HE’s going to take over completely. We understand that nothing in this world will survive the coming destruction but to the believers who’s heart & mind are shaped by faith & the hope of salvation, we get to live together w/JESUS. We live in the light rather than the darkness which is why we can encourage one another. Be mindful, watchful, & stay alert; GOD has warned us. To HIM the Only Wise GOD be glory.

  7. Thank you Lord for the knowledge you give us regarding our Christian life. Let us as the word says be encouragers to other believers but certainly to the sinners who need God’s word for salvation. Let us be found worthy when it time to be caught up.

    Be blessed church

  8. Father God thank you for sending your son to die on the cross for my sins. I pray that the light of Jesus shines so brightly through me each day so that no one will be left behind! I pray we are all ready when Jesus comes again! Help me to be all that you created me to be. Make my heart pure. Thank you for loving me.
    Amen!
