Matthew 14:22-36

Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. 23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24 but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”

28 And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Jesus Heals the Sick in Gennesaret

34 And when they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick 36 and implored him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.

  1. Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for always being there for us. All we have to do is stretch out our arms to you. Please help us to have more faith. You perform miracles everyday that we often miss. Thank you for everything. In Jesus’name, Amen.

  2. “I am the Lord your God. I take hold of your right hand and say to you: Do not be afraid. I will help you. “Isaiah 41: 13

  3. Peter was no different than you and I! Human as us, we have the same power Peter had. Are we willing to have faith to step out of the boat and walk by faith or are we going to stay in the boat and talk about Peter taking his eyes off Jesus and sinking? It’s our choice. Let us walk by faith and snatch those on the edge of hell from falling in and save them from burning in hell for eternity! Heavenly Father, help us to cry to you to see all, not just our loved ones to be rescued today from an eternity of torment! Praise God for making a way for us to live eternally with you, along with those you allow us to witness to today about your love and saving power. Thank you Father now for what you will do today, In Jesus Holy Name. Let it be done. Amen

  4. Father,

When they heard Jesus had come, they brought all that were sick to him for healing.

Jesus feed many. Jesus healed many. Jesus opened the eyes of the blind. And Jesus feed them the Word of God.

Today, may we implore our family and friends to reach out in prayer and touch you, Lord Jesus.

Father, as we seek more of your Word and more of your love, may we share with others, not by might, nor by power, but through your Spirt.

Forgive us as we wander. Place our feet on the narrow path.

Call us home someday, Lord Jesus. Until then, may we be working and doing and telling and inviting others to know and trust the Master.

Humbly praying in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

    Amen.

  5. Lord, sometimes I have wondered about Your timing in saving us out of times of danger; and maybe the struggle and waiting has been what You knew I needed as I learn to keep trusting and waiting ; maybe I needed to come to the end of myself and my strength and see only You as my help and salvation. But clearly I need to keep my eyes and focus on You, Lord, and all I know of Your faithfulness.

  6. trust in the Lord always he hears are prayers he knows are needs and he knows what’s good for us we serve a glorious mighty Lord .

  7. Lord thank You for this day. Forgive me when I fail to call out to You. May I continually have faith in You and trust You are always by my side.In Jesus name I pray. Amen
