We currently use a Bible study plan that studies different books of the Bible. Our class is comprised of about 20 faithful attendees who have high school or college-aged children and a few with grandkids. We have quarterly socials and once a month "Dutch treat out to lunch" Sundays. Our format is a prayer request time (forwarded via email to all class members each week) and generally lecture-type Bible study with feedback and input from members. We have a great time and the absolute neatest class members in the church. Also, being early Bible study, we get the coffee freshest, and we beat the other churches to lunch most every week because we are done with Bible study and worship by 11:00 AM.

Jesus is our example, for he always prayed to the Father. In (John 17), we find the prayer of Jesus, in which he prayed not only for his disciples, but also for us. The disciples never asked Jesus to teach them how to preach, but they did ask him to teach them how to pray. As Disciples of Christ today, we too should desire to know how to pray and be effective.
