Jesus, The Teacher

With many different theories about who Jesus was, it can be easy to misrepresent our Savior. He is not just a prophet; He is not a priest as we know them; He is not simply a good teacher. He is all of those things and more—He is God!

This month’s Daily Bible Reading is designed to teach kids that Jesus’ teachings can be trusted. Through narratives of Jesus’ time on earth and His teachings, you can help kids understand that they can listen to Jesus’ words and follow His example. Jesus is unlike any other teacher because He is God in the flesh.

The world tries to portray Jesus as just a teacher who said some good things. Use Daily Bible Reading to remind kids that Jesus, as God’s Son, is the source of all knowledge.

Showing God’s Love to Others

In this month’s Daily Bible Reading kids will explore how God works through people to accomplish His purpose for the world—that all people would know Him by trusting in His Son, Jesus, as Savior.

The Bible is filled with stories of how God uses people to fulfill His plans. These people were not perfect; they were sinners like all of us. Kids will hear how Samuel followed God’s plan in choosing a new king, how Jonathan helped David escape the wrath of Saul, how David later spared Saul, and how David showed kindness to Mephibosheth.

Through these rich Bible stories, kids can understand that God values people. Use the Unit Verse, Colossians 3:12, to reinforce this truth and encourage your child to show compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Remind them that the way we treat others reflects the love we have for God.

The Kids Ministry team prays that Daily Bible Reading will assist you as you help kids look beyond themselves to others around them.

He is God

With this month’s Daily Bible Reading kids will go back to basic biblical truths by learning some of the first things God revealed
about Himself through His Word. We will take a close look at God and focus on the truths that God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and deserves our complete devotion.

As kids dive into passages from the Book of Genesis and the beginning of Exodus, they will learn how God made and kept promises over and over again to His people. Kids also will be reminded that His plans have been trustworthy since the
beginning of time.

This unit offers the opportunity to introduce kids to God—not a god of this world but the one true God. Share about who God is and then join the Kids Ministry team as we pray that He would draw all children to know Him!

Kids will hear how Barnabas encouraged other believers, how Paul and Silas praised God even during tough circumstances, how the Bereans searched the Scriptures for truth, and what Paul taught the Corinthians.

Kids also will hear that God gives believers abilities and unique gifts to serve Him. God wants Christians to serve Him with an attitude of love and thankfulness for the salvation He provides through Jesus Christ.

The Kids Ministry team hopes that your family will be encouraged as you learn these important truths about the
one and only God. May He strengthen your family as you study His Word together.

God is in Control

In Isaiah 46:9 God reminds the people to remember what happened long ago. He is God, and there is no other. He is God, and there is no one like Him.

This month kids will hear that God is in control. The Old Testament stories of the ten plagues, David and Goliath, Elijah and the widow, and God’s judgment of Belshazzar will help kids better understand that although there is sin and hardship, God is steadfast and unchanging. Where God is, there is peace. This is an amazing part of God’s character.

As you learn more about the character of God with this month’s Daily Bible Reading, the Kids Ministry team prays that your children will develop a desire to respond to Him. God is worthy of worship. He deserves respect, obedience, and honor.
