1. Reopening Date Moved to June 7

As you know, we originally planned to transition into “Phase Two” on May 31st enabling us to gather for the first time. We have decided to move opening day to Sunday, June 7.

  • New Service Schedule Beginning June 7:
  • (On Campus and Live-Streamed Online)
  • Champions: 9:30am English / 11:45am Spanish
  • North Klein: 9:30am English / 1pm Spanish
  • Jersey Village: 9:30am English / 11:15am Spanish
  • Conroe: 10am English / 6:00pm Spanish

2. Lessons Learned So Far in Our COVID Journey

This past Sunday, CFBC staff at all four campuses had full service “rehearsals”. We practiced taking temperatures of all who entered, performed deep cleans of the facilities in between services, ensured the technology worked to stream all four campus’s services online, and practiced social distancing in the Worship Center. It was incredible to finally worship together again as a staff.

The rehearsals acted precisely as they were intended – they helped us find potential areas that needed attention in preparation for our official regathering.

On Tuesday, we got word that one of our praise team members at the Jersey Village campus tested positive for COVID-19. This person spent Sunday morning in the vicinity of most of our JV staff and other volunteers. I have personally talked and prayed with this individual and ask you to join me in prayer for a speedy recovery.

We immediately began working with local officials, the CDC, epidemiologists and other medical professionals to respond appropriately. The Harris County Public Health Department assigned us a specific Team Leader from their Contact Tracing Team whom we have been working with very closely.

Anyone who was within 7 feet of this praise team member for at least 5 minutes on Sunday morning has entered a 14-day quarantine period which involves four of our Jersey Village staff members and 14 volunteers. Because this 14-day quarantine extends through May 31, we will continue church online and move our timeline back one week to June 7 for all four campuses.

3. Measures to Protect the Ongoing Ministry of the Church

In addition to the measures we already had planned (temp check, masks, social distancing, cleaning, etc.), we are putting in place additional layers to avoid disrupting our ongoing ministry.

  • All staff is divided into two teams and will alternate when each team is on-campus.
  • Full-time ministry staff capable of FULLY working from home are encouraged to do so.
  • Staff from each campus will be “firewalled” from any other campus.
  • Preachers at each campus will keep 7 feet of social distance on Sunday mornings.

FAQs

Q: How are the JV Staff and volunteers doing?
A: Great, none have experienced symptoms so far. Please continue to pray for them as they quarantine.

Q: How do I RSVP for June 7?
A: One week before, a link to RSVP will be emailed out and also made available on our website.

Q: Is there anything for my kids on June 7?

Update From Pastor Stephen

Published March 17, 2020 at 7:30am

Dear Church Family,

We love our community. Helping people is at the heart everything we do. At this moment, for the health and well-being of our neighbors, the best way we can help is to make adjustments on how we do church. Our goal is to “flatten the curve” of the spread of COVID-19. Please note the following updates…

Worship Services
Our online experience in English at 10am & Spanish at 11:30am on Sundays will continue at least through April 5.

Church Activities
All on-campus activities and events, including our FLC, are suspended through April 10th. This includes our Journey to the Cross event at our Jersey Village Campus.

CMC – Food Pantry
The Food Pantry in our Community Ministry Center at our Champions Campus will continue to serve our neighbors with a drive-thru experience. Select this LINK for a list of items you can donate to help us meet specific needs.

Online Giving
Let’s continue to pray fervently and to give faithfully. You can give online via PushPay or by mailing directly to the church finance office (15555 Stuebner-Airline, Houston TX 77069) so we can continue the Lord’s work effectively and efficiently. God blesses our obedience and rewards our generosity.

How To Help
Our staff is diligently working on a system to help meet the needs of our community in a way that will add value while abiding by the latest updates provided by our local, state, and national authorities. Please stay tuned for more information coming soon. Remember, you can always see the most important information by visiting our website at championforest.org.

“‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31 (ESV)

Thank you for being flexible and interruptible. Our faith is in God and we know He will provide for us every step of the way. He is faithful. He is dependable. He is reliable.

Following Jesus Every Day,

Pastor Stephen Trammell
