Countdown to Christmas

Christmas ADVENTure | Sunday, December 20th
ChampionsNorth KleinJersey Village

Parents,

Take your family on a wonderful journey from December 1 to Christmas Day with “Countdown to Christmas.” Every day read a Bible verse, talk about what you read, and choose a fun activity to do together.

The prayer of CFBC Kids Ministry is for you to redeem precious time with your family. Stay focused on the true story of Christmas. Adore the precious One in the manger and write His Name (Immanuel…God with us) on the hearts of your children.

During the Christmas season make church a priority! The December curriculum for Kids Life groups centers on the birth of Jesus. The foundational, doctrinal Bible lessons are on your child’s level of understanding. You don’t want to miss one precious week!

Joyfully,
The CFBC Kids Ministry Team

November DBR

Daily Bible Reading (DBR) prepares 1st-5th Graders for what they will learn on Sunday. Your child will discover new and amazing things about God, Jesus and the Bible! Encourage your child to have a journal and write what they learn each day. Set a goal to spend time daily reading the Bible and praying with your child. Or encourage them to do so independently.

Follow Jesus’ Example

In this month’s Daily Bible Reading (DBR), kids will discover that people can follow Jesus’ example. Kids will focus on stories of Jesus’ interactions with people—specifically, His disciples, a tax collector, and some children. Kids also will hear how Jesus resisted temptation and how He prayed in the garden. All these Bible stories point to the fact that people can be in right relationship with God through Jesus—isn’t that the truth of the gospel?

Kids will be reminded that people are God’s most valuable creation. Because He loves us so much, He will help us take deliberate actions to follow Jesus and honor Him with our choices.

Obedience to God

The month’s Daily Bible Reading (DBR) focuses on Bible people who were obedient to God. Kids will hear that Joshua and Caleb trusted God’s commands even when everyone around them did not. They will learn how Joshua obeyed God at the battle of Jericho, and they will see how Elijah trusted God as the one true God when others worshiped false gods. Kids also will dive into the story of Daniel in the lions’ den and learn that God helps people to obey Him even when bad things are happening.

In each of these stories, kids will see how God is faithful when His children are obedient and how He loves His children even when they fail to obey.

August Daily Discipleship Moments

It’s August!

Moms and Dads, It’s August! And even though we still aren’t quite sure what the world has in store, your most important job each day is STILL the spiritual nurturing of your children!

Kids are only little a few minutes, and time is precious. So, Moms, and Dads, start discipling your littles…raise them up to shine like stars in their generation, and to be warriors for Christ in a world that needs to know Him!

Disciple your child by following these two guides each day this month.
Preschool families – Use the Preschool “Minute to Win It” Discipleship calendar.
Elementary families – Use Daily Bible Reading.

Read the verses.
Do the activities.
Answer the questions.

Preschool Discipleship Calendar

The CFBC Preschool Ministry has designed some quickie ideas for you to use this summer as you disciple your preschoolers! Presented in calendar format, pop this on the refrigerator for easy access through the day…and use these ideas as you “teach them diligently (repeat them again and again) to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. (Deuteronomy 6:7)” Remember, children learn through repetition, so repeat, repeat repeat…again and again, multiple times a day!

The days are formatted by age, as follows, but many suggestions can be used for different age groups:

  • Sundays | Sundays at Home Life Group Lesson
  • Mondays | Baby Church
  • Tuesdays | Toddler Tidbits
  • Wednesdays | Hump Day Happies (for middle preschoolers)
  • Thursdays | Thursday Thoughts (for older preschoolers)
  • Fridays | Music Moments
  • Saturdays | How to Raise Spiritual Kids (parent ideas)

Take the D67 Challenge!

Parents,

How are you doing discipling your kids this summer? God has given you the greatest gift ever, your children. Now is the time to teach them about JESUS!!

We challenge you to take the D67 challenge this month!!

Deuteronomy 6:7 says, “These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 CSB

Preschool families – Use the July Summer Discipleship calendar
Elementary families – Use July’s Daily Bible Reading

We challenge you to disciple your child by following these two guides each day the month of July.
Read the verses.
Do the activities.
Answer the questions.

Remember, your children will adopt your faith and mimic your spiritual habits. Watch carefully this month to see what they are learning from you!

If you’re willing to take the D67 challenge in July, post it to your social media. Invite a friend or two to take the challenge & hold you accountable. Each day share how you’ve discipled your child.

Who knows maybe not only your child will adopt your faith & mimic you’re spiritual disciplines, but maybe just one of your FB friends or Insta followers too!

Take the challenge & change a life!!
The CFBC Kids Ministry Team

July Daily Bible Reading

With July’s Daily Bible Reading kids will focus on PEOPLE in Scripture who made choices—both good and bad. God gives people the right and ability to make choices. Those choices can either honor God or dishonor Him.

As you read the the DBR together, utilize the various Bible stories to help kids understand that everyone sins. It can be easy for kids to think about people in the Bible as perfect heroes who always did everything right. Remind kids that the people in the Bible are not characters—they were real people who walked this earth just like all of us. These people were presented with opportunities to make choices, and with God’s help, many of them chose to glorify God with their actions.

The Church Meets the Needs of People

This week we are learning that God uses the church to meet people’s needs as an expression of His love. Make a list of ways you can help Christians who are in your church, in your community, and around the world. Below are just a couple of examples and great conversation starters.

  • Introduce your child to our Community Ministry Center and involve them in donating food to the center that helps our local community! For more info about the CMC, visit www.championforest.org/updates/helping-one-another.
  • You can also explain to your child that while not everyone can go on an international missions trip, everyone can pray and give offering money to missions, like International Treasure House. The church meets the needs of people.
