Parent Resources For Quarantine

Champion Forest Student Ministry wants to partner with parents to disciple their students in order to see them follow Jesus for the rest of their lives!

Below are some helpful resources to help you disciple your student well during the current global pandemic.

Establish Rhythms

You’re probably navigating how to help your student do school at home while juggling a million other things. Daily rhythms and routine can be a tremendous help!

  • Daily Bible Reading and Prayer– Join the rest of our church and read a chapter of Mark each day. Find the time that works best for your family to read Scripture and pray together. Find the daily devotionals here!
  • CFSM Daily Bible Reading Discussion– At 3pm each weekday we are jumping on a Zoom call to discuss the daily reading. Make this a part of your daily homeschool routine. This is a great way for your student to connect with the Word and other brothers and sisters. Join us here!
  • Worship on Sundays– This is a weekly rhythm we already have! Even though we might not be able to gather, let’s continue to make it a part of what we do each week. Join us on Sundays at 10am in English and 11:30 in Spanish. Our friends at The Village Church put together some helpful best practices for family worship here! Check them out.
  • Life Groups on Sundays– Our Life Groups are still meeting via Zoom! Be sure your family is connected to life groups during this time
  • Worship On Wednesdays– Join your campus pastor at 6:45 and then the student ministry at 7:15 each week via Facebook live and/or Instagram live.

Daily SOAP with the Student Staff: #7! Mark 3

Join us for Mark 3 today! Get out your Bible and journal and let’s read God’s Word and allow the Spirit to make us more like Jesus today! If you need a reminder about what the SOAP method is, see below:

  • Scripture: write out all of the words in each verse that stuck out to you the most.
  • Observation: write down several things that you noticed while reading.
  • Application: how can you apply what you read to your life today? The more specific, the better!
  • Prayer: tell God what you are thankful for, confess any sins, and ask Him to give you all that you need to be able to apply His Word to your life!

At 3pm today we gathered on ZOOM! If you missed it, check out this video and join us on our next live gathering as we let the word of God continue to shape us and mold us into more of the image of Jesus! Join us weekdays at 3pm here: https://zoom.us/j/9187062349

Build My Life

Build My Life

In today’s worship moment, we are singing “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett. Especially in this season, it is clear that we must focus on what matters, and to build the foundation of our life on Christ!

On March 19, our good friend Mark Lanier allowed us to come record this from the Lanier Chapel, and introduces the song. Lift your voice and worship with us…

Lyrics – “Build My Life”

[Verse 1]
Worthy of every song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You

[Verse 2]
Jesus, the name above every other name
Jesus, the only one who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You

[Chorus]
Holy, there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder
Show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

[Verse 1]
Worthy of every song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You

[Verse 2]
Jesus, the name above every other name
Jesus, the only one who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You

[Chorus]
Holy, there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder
Show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
(2x)

[Bridge]
I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken
(2x)

[Chorus]
Holy, there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder
Show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
(2x)

[Bridge]
I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken

Activity: Kindness Day

Today is Kindness Day! See below for some ideas to be a giver of kindness today, just like Ms. Stephanie talked about in today’s Bible Reading video!

Kindness Day Activities

  1. The Kind Job Give
Do at least 1 job for 1 person in your family. Clean their room. Load the dishwasher for mom. Take out the trash for dad.
  2. The Kind Letter Give
Write a letter or draw a thank you picture for the mail carrier. Leave it in your mailbox. Pray for your mail carrier.
  3. The Neighborhood Give
Chalk your driveway or sidewalk with kind words or drawings to encourage your neighbors! Leave chalk outside for neighbors to add to your drawing. Take a walk and pray for your neighbors. Don’t forget to look for other prints and messages written by your neighbors.
  4. Share the Kindness
Video your family acting out the story (Mark 12: 41-44) as a family. You will need disciples, Jesus, rich people and the widow. Share the video with friends and family who don’t know Jesus.
