LEADER BIBLE STUDY
CONTEXT AND COMMENTARY FOR PERSONAL STUDY AND PREPARATION
(For age-appropriate language, use the Bible story on the following pages.)

Make a list of everything you own, all the things that belong to you. Walk around where you live and count how many items are in a room. It's probably more than you think! Read Psalm 24:1. Think about the earth and everything in it. "In the beginning God created . . ." (Genesis 1:1). We certainly do not want to overlook those vital first words of Scripture because we learn a vital truth for understanding the world. Everything belongs to God because he made it.

God did not create things by accident or without a purpose. From the start, we see that God created the earth so that he himself could live on it. Not only that, but he gave the earth for humans to live on and enjoy. We know that even after the first humans sinned, God still wants to live on the earth with us. This is why in Revelation 21 we see that eternal life is lived on the earth after it's remade to be perfect.

Because God made everything,

His creativity is on display throughout all of God's Word. As Scripture unfolds we gain new glimpses into the majesty of God's creativity. As you read the story of creation, think about God, the amazing Creator of all things and notice His creation as an expression of His infinite creativity and sovereignty. Understanding God as Creator is so vital—because as Creator He has authority over His creation. Because God created everything, including us, He has a right to do with His creation as He pleases. It is his! It belongs to him! Help kids understand that God created everything and it all belongs to him.

MISSION MOMENT
Champions Worship Center & North Klein Building Expansion

Champions Campus: Go into the Worship Center and sit in chairs. (Babies-Twos use Bye-Bye Buggies to take children to the WC.)

North Klein: Show pictures or video of North Klein.

Set a goal as a class to raise enough money to pay for a certain number of chairs at CH or resources for the NK classrooms. Pray with kids for the people who will be in the WC @ CH and the NK Kids building.

TELL THE STORY
God Made Everything

In the beginning, God made the world. He made light for the world. God said, "Let there be light," and the light appeared. God called the light day, and He called the darkness night. These things happened on the first day.

On the second day, God spoke words to make a huge space above the earth. He called the space sky.

God made the dry ground and the oceans. God called the dry ground land. He called the water seas. God looked at the things He had made. Everything was good.

On the third day, God said, "Let the land grow all kinds of plants and trees." The plants began to grow. God made each of the plants with its own kind of seed. God saw that what He had made was good.

On the fourth day, God said, "Let lights shine in the sky." God made the bright sun to shine in the daytime. He made the moon for the nighttime. God made all the stars.

On the fifth day, God made fish and ocean animals. God made all the birds. He made all kinds of fish and birds. God planned for the fish and birds to have babies so there would always be fish and birds on the earth.

On the sixth day, God made all kinds of animals to live on the land. God made people. God planned for people to take care of the world He made. God looked at the world. Everything He made was good. Everything belonged to Him.
