{"id":567,"date":"2020-05-02T00:10:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-02T05:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.championforest.org\/devotionals\/?p=567"},"modified":"2020-04-30T10:37:31","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T15:37:31","slug":"may-2-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.championforest.org\/devotionals\/may-2-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"RHYTHM: DAY 13"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>May 2, 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Psalm of David highlights a tension between <em>fear<\/em>\nand <em>faith<\/em> in life. David mentions wars and enemies, abandonment by those\nclosest to him, and isolation as potential obstacles to his daily relationship\nwith God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there is a resounding statement of faith that\nhe wants to seek God and his plans. It is this priority and confidence in God\nthat helps him make his decision to trust God and seek his face instead of fear!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David knows God\u2019s answer may not be immediate, and so\nhe declares his faith in verse 13, I believe that I will see the goodness of\nthe Lord\u2026and he encourages his hearers and readers to do the same: wait, be\nstrong and take courage. There is no one to fear but God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-a7e999a ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-basic ugb-main-block\" id=\"\"><style>.ugb-a7e999a-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper{border-radius:12px !important;background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper.ugb-container__content-wrapper{width:100% !important}.ugb-a7e999a-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper:before{background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h1,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h2,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h3,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h4,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h5,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > h6{color:#222222}.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > p,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > ol li,.ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper > ul li{color:#222222}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-a7e999a-wrapper ugb--shadow-3\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-a7e999a-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psalm 27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;Is My Light and My Salvation<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Of David.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>1&nbsp;The&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;is my&nbsp;light and my&nbsp;salvation;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;whom shall I fear?<br>The&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;is the stronghold&nbsp;of my life;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;of whom shall I be afraid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup>When evildoers assail me<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;to&nbsp;eat up my flesh,<br>my adversaries and foes,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;it is they who stumble and fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup>Though an army encamp against me,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;my heart shall not fear;<br>though war arise against me,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;yet&nbsp;I will be confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup>One thing have I asked of the&nbsp;Lord,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;that will I seek after:<br>that I may&nbsp;dwell in the house of the&nbsp;Lord<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;all the days of my life,<br>to gaze upon&nbsp;the beauty of the&nbsp;Lord<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and to inquire&nbsp;in his temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup>For he will&nbsp;hide me in his shelter<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;in the day of trouble;<br>he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;he will&nbsp;lift me high upon a rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>And now my&nbsp;head shall be lifted up<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;above my enemies all around me,<br>and I will offer in his tent<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;sacrifices with shouts of&nbsp;joy;<br>I will sing and make melody to the&nbsp;Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>Hear, O&nbsp;Lord, when I cry aloud;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;be gracious to me and answer me!<br><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>You have said,&nbsp;\u201cSeek&nbsp;my face.\u201d<br>My heart says to you,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cYour face,&nbsp;Lord, do I seek.\u201d<br><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hide not your face from me.<br>Turn not your servant away in anger,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;O you who have been my help.<br>Cast me not off;
