Now, we\u2019re going to walk through the events of the&nbsp;<em>Passion Week<\/em>&nbsp;according to John. John gives us a unique look at the life of Jesus that is different than that of the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke). Jesus has made his triumphal entry (John 12:9-19) and we get a glimpse of Jesus on Tuesday having spent time teaching people the word of God in the temple in Jerusalem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>As you read the text today. Think about people you know who do&nbsp;<em>not<\/em>&nbsp;believe in Jesus. What are their objections? Why do people you know not believe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-544484f ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-basic ugb-main-block\" id=\"\"><style>.ugb-544484f-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper{border-radius:12px !important;background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper.ugb-container__content-wrapper{width:100% !important}.ugb-544484f-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper:before{background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h1,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h2,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h3,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h4,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h5,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > h6{color:#222222}.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > p,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > ol li,.ugb-544484f-content-wrapper > ul li{color:#222222}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-544484f-wrapper ugb--shadow-3\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-544484f-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">John  12:37-50<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>37&nbsp;<\/sup>Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him,&nbsp;<sup>38&nbsp;<\/sup>so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLord, who has believed what he heard from us,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>39&nbsp;<\/sup>Therefore they&nbsp;could not believe. For again Isaiah said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>40&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cHe has blinded their eyes<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and&nbsp;hardened their heart,<br>lest they see with their eyes,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and understand with their heart, and turn,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and I would heal them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>41&nbsp;<\/sup>Isaiah said these things because&nbsp;he saw his glory and&nbsp;spoke of him.&nbsp;<sup>42&nbsp;<\/sup>Nevertheless,&nbsp;many even of the authorities believed in him, but&nbsp;for fear of the Pharisees they did not&nbsp;confess it, so that they would not be&nbsp;put out of the synagogue;&nbsp;<sup>43&nbsp;<\/sup>for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus Came to Save the World<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>44&nbsp;<\/sup>And Jesus cried out and said,&nbsp;\u201cWhoever believes in me, believes not in me but&nbsp;in him who sent me.&nbsp;<sup>45&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;whoever&nbsp;sees me sees him who sent me.&nbsp;<sup>46&nbsp;<\/sup>I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.&nbsp;<sup>47&nbsp;<\/sup>If anyone&nbsp;hears my words and does not keep them,&nbsp;I do not judge him; for&nbsp;I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.&nbsp;<sup>48&nbsp;<\/sup>The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge;&nbsp;the word that I have spoken will judge him&nbsp;on the last day.&nbsp;<sup>49&nbsp;<\/sup>For&nbsp;I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father&nbsp;who sent me has himself given me&nbsp;a commandment\u2014what to say and what to speak.&nbsp;<sup>50&nbsp;<\/sup>And I know that his commandment is eternal life. The Scripture says that many&nbsp;<em>did<\/em> believe but they did not confess because they loved the glory from man more than the glory from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are there any people or any areas of your life where you are afraid to confess your faith in Jesus because of fear of man? Pray and ask God to give you opportunities to confess Jesus as Lord!
