When we read a passage like this it is hard to find initial immediate application but that is a good thing. Read the passage slowly but don\u2019t get caught up in all of what you might not understand. Instead, let God deepen your life with thoughts of eternity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-b274da2 ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-basic ugb-main-block\" id=\"\"><style>.ugb-b274da2-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper{border-radius:12px !important;background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper.ugb-container__content-wrapper{width:100% !important}.ugb-b274da2-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper:before{background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h1,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h2,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h3,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h4,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h5,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > h6{color:#222222}.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > p,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > ol li,.ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper > ul li{color:#222222}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-b274da2-wrapper ugb--shadow-3\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-b274da2-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mark 13<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>1&nbsp;And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, \u201cLook, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!\u201d&nbsp;<sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup>And Jesus said to him,&nbsp;\u201cDo you see these great buildings?&nbsp;There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs of the End of the Age<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup>And as he sat on&nbsp;the Mount of Olives opposite the temple,&nbsp;Peter and James and John and&nbsp;Andrew asked him&nbsp;privately,&nbsp;<sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cTell us,&nbsp;when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?\u201d&nbsp;<sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup>And Jesus began to say to them,&nbsp;\u201cSee that no one leads you astray.&nbsp;<sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>Many will come in my name, saying,&nbsp;\u2018I am he!\u2019 and they will lead many astray.&nbsp;<sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars,&nbsp;do not be alarmed. This&nbsp;must take place, but the end is not yet.&nbsp;<sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>For&nbsp;nation will rise against nation, and&nbsp;kingdom against kingdom. There will be&nbsp;earthquakes in various places; there will be&nbsp;famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBut&nbsp;be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten&nbsp;in synagogues, and you will stand before&nbsp;governors and&nbsp;kings for my sake,&nbsp;to bear witness before them.&nbsp;<sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>And the gospel must first be proclaimed&nbsp;to all nations.&nbsp;<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over,&nbsp;do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say&nbsp;whatever is given you in that hour,&nbsp;for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.&nbsp;<sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death.&nbsp;<sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>And you will be hated by all for my name&#8217;s sake.&nbsp;But the one who endures to the end will be saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Abomination of Desolation<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBut when you see&nbsp;the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.&nbsp;<sup>15&nbsp;<\/sup>Let the one who is on&nbsp;the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out,&nbsp;<sup>16&nbsp;<\/sup>and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.&nbsp;<sup>17&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!&nbsp;<sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup>Pray that it may not happen in winter.&nbsp;<sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup>For in those days there will be&nbsp;such&nbsp;tribulation as has not been&nbsp;from the beginning of the creation that&nbsp;God created until now, and never will be.&nbsp;<sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup>And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for&nbsp;the sake of the elect, whom&nbsp;he chose, he shortened the days.&nbsp;<sup>21&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;then if anyone says to you, \u2018Look, here is the Christ!\u2019 or \u2018Look, there he is!\u2019 do not believe it.&nbsp;<sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup>For false christs and false prophets will arise and&nbsp;perform signs and wonders,&nbsp;to lead astray, if possible,&nbsp;the elect.&nbsp;<sup>23&nbsp;<\/sup>But&nbsp;be on guard;&nbsp;I have told you all things beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Coming of the Son of Man<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBut in those days, after&nbsp;that tribulation,&nbsp;the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,&nbsp;<sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup>and&nbsp;the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.&nbsp;<sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup>And then they will see&nbsp;the Son of Man coming in clouds&nbsp;with great power and glory.&nbsp;<sup>27&nbsp;<\/sup>And then&nbsp;he will send out the angels and&nbsp;gather&nbsp;his elect from&nbsp;the four winds, from&nbsp;the ends of the earth&nbsp;to the ends of heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Lesson of the Fig Tree<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>28&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cFrom the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.&nbsp;<sup>29&nbsp;<\/sup>So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near,&nbsp;at the very gates.&nbsp;<sup>30&nbsp;<\/sup>Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.&nbsp;<sup>31&nbsp;<\/sup>Heaven and earth will pass away, but&nbsp;my words will not pass away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No One Knows That Day or Hour<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>32&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBut concerning that day or that hour,&nbsp;no one knows, not even the angels in heaven,&nbsp;nor the Son,&nbsp;but only the Father.&nbsp;<sup>33&nbsp;<\/sup>Be on guard,&nbsp;keep awake.&nbsp;For you do not know when the time will come.&nbsp;<sup>34&nbsp;<\/sup>It is like a man&nbsp;going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants&nbsp;in charge,&nbsp;each with his work, and commands&nbsp;the doorkeeper to stay awake.&nbsp;<sup>35&nbsp;<\/sup>Therefore stay awake\u2014for you do not know when the master of the house will come,&nbsp;in the evening, or&nbsp;at midnight, or&nbsp;when the rooster crows,&nbsp;or&nbsp;in the morning\u2014&nbsp;<sup>36&nbsp;<\/sup>lest&nbsp;he come suddenly and&nbsp;find you asleep.&nbsp;<sup>37&nbsp;<\/sup>And what I say to you I say to all:&nbsp;Stay awake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ededed\" class=\"has-background\">The Holy Bible, English Standard Version\u00ae (ESV\u00ae), copyright \u00a9 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-divider ugb-divider ugb-c56a1ef ugb-divider--v2 ugb-divider--design-basic ugb-main-block\" id=\"\"><style>.ugb-c56a1ef hr.ugb-divider__hr{background-color:#dddddd !important;height:1px !important;width:50% !important;margin-left:auto !important;margin-right:auto !important}.ugb-c56a1ef .ugb-inner-block{text-align:center}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><hr class=\"ugb-divider__hr\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat I say to you I say to everyone: Stay alert!\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even during the Covid-19 Crisis? For many of us this time of\nbeing stripped from our normal routines has revealed the faulty foundation of\nmuch of what we\u2019ve built our life on. The beautiful stone buildings with which\nthe disciples are amazed, Jesus explains will soon be ruined. The same is true\nfor our life \u2013 we are here for a mist, a vapor. Here then gone. In this vapor\nof a life we have been given a task: Stay about the father\u2019s business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are you living joyfully expecting the Father\u2019s return? Or\nwould his return expose that your life is dead towards him and you\u2019ve busied\nyourself with other things? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t live today thinking tomorrow is guaranteed. You\u2019ve\nbeen given grace to make changes in your life today.
