And this is eternal life,\u00a0that they know you,\u00a0the only\u00a0true God, and\u00a0Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I\u00a0glorified you on earth,\u00a0having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father,\u00a0glorify me in your own presence with the glory\u00a0that I had with you\u00a0before the world existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have manifested your name to the people\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0whom you gave me out of the world.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything\u00a0that you have given me is from you. For I have given them\u00a0the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that\u00a0I came from you; and\u00a0they have believed that you sent me. I am praying for them.\u00a0I am not praying for the world but for those\u00a0whom you have given me, for\u00a0they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and\u00a0I am glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world, but\u00a0they are in the world, and\u00a0I am coming to you.\u00a0Holy Father,\u00a0keep them in your name,\u00a0which you have given me,\u00a0that they may be one,\u00a0even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have\u00a0guarded them, and\u00a0not one of them has been lost except\u00a0the son of destruction,\u00a0that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now\u00a0I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have\u00a0my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word, and\u00a0the world has hated them\u00a0because they are not of the world,\u00a0just as I am not of the world. I\u00a0do not ask that you\u00a0take them out of the world, but that you\u00a0keep them from\u00a0the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them\u00a0\u00a0in the truth;\u00a0your word is truth.\u00a0\u00a018As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And\u00a0for their sake\u00a0I consecrate myself,\u00a0\u00a0that they also\u00a0may be sanctified\u00a0\u00a0in truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI do not ask for these only, but also for those\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that\u00a0they also may be in\u00a0us, so that the world\u00a0may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me\u00a0I have given to them,\u00a0that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me,\u00a0that they may become perfectly one,\u00a0so that the world may know that you sent me and\u00a0loved them even as\u00a0you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be\u00a0with me\u00a0where I am,\u00a0to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me\u00a0before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, even though\u00a0the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. He is prepared, ready, and headed confidently to the cross, having completed the work the Father gave Him to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, He is preparing His disciples to continue His mission, and He ends this time with them by praying to His Father in their hearing. How encouraged and strengthened they must have been to hear His prayers to the Father on their behalf!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We now have the incredible privilege of listening in on Jesus\u2019 prayer to His Father just before He gave His life for us. Can you hear Jesus\u2019 love for us expressed to the Father in His prayer? Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus always lives to make intercession for us. Even now, He is praying for us as we continue the work of sharing Jesus with those He has entrusted to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does Jesus ask the Father? That we would be protected from the evil one, sanctified by the truth of the Word, and unified as one with the Father and Jesus. We can be so encouraged to know how our Lord prays for us! Through this, He also provides us with an example of how to pray for one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who in your life today would be encouraged and strengthened to hear you pray to the Father on their behalf?
