He will\u00a0dwell with them, and they will be his people,\u00a0and God himself will be with them as their God.\u00a0<sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and\u00a0death shall be no more,\u00a0neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;he who was seated on the throne said, \u201cBehold, I&nbsp;am making all things new.\u201d Also he said, \u201cWrite this down, for&nbsp;these words are trustworthy and true.\u201d&nbsp;<sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>And he said to me,&nbsp;\u201cIt is done!&nbsp;I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.&nbsp;To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.&nbsp;<sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>The one who conquers will have this heritage, and&nbsp;I will be his God and&nbsp;he will be my son.&nbsp;<sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars,&nbsp;their portion will be in&nbsp;the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is&nbsp;the second death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The New Jerusalem<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>Then came&nbsp;one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of&nbsp;the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, \u201cCome, I will show you&nbsp;the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.\u201d&nbsp;<sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;he carried me away in the Spirit to&nbsp;a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,&nbsp;<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>having the glory of God,&nbsp;its radiance&nbsp;like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.&nbsp;<sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>It had a great, high wall,&nbsp;with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed\u2014&nbsp;<sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.&nbsp;<sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup>And the wall of the city had twelve&nbsp;foundations, and&nbsp;on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>And the one who spoke with me\u00a0had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls.\u00a0<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia.\u00a0Its length and width and height are equal.\u00a0<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>He also measured its wall, 144 cubits\u00a0by\u00a0human measurement, which is also\u00a0an angel&#8217;s measurement.\u00a0<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>The wall was built of\u00a0jasper, while the city was pure gold, like\u00a0clear glass.\u00a0<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,\u00a0<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.\u00a0<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and\u00a0the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup>And&nbsp;I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.&nbsp;<sup>23&nbsp;<\/sup>And the city&nbsp;has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for&nbsp;the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.&nbsp;<sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup>By its light&nbsp;will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth&nbsp;will bring their glory into it,&nbsp;<sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup>and&nbsp;its gates will never be shut by day\u2014and&nbsp;there will be no night there.&nbsp;<sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup>They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.&nbsp;<sup>27&nbsp;<\/sup>But&nbsp;nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb&#8217;s&nbsp;book of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The River of Life<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>22\u00a0<\/strong>Then the angel\u00a0showed me\u00a0the river of\u00a0the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb\u00a0<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>through the middle of\u00a0the street of the city;\u00a0also, on either side of the river,\u00a0the tree of life\u00a0with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were\u00a0for the healing of the nations.\u00a0<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>No longer will there be anything accursed, but\u00a0the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and\u00a0his servants will worship him.\u00a0<sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>They will see his face, and\u00a0his name will be on their foreheads.\u00a0<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp\u00a0or sun, for\u00a0the Lord God will be their light, and\u00a0they will reign forever and ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus Is Coming<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>And he said to me,&nbsp;\u201cThese words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of&nbsp;the spirits of the prophets,&nbsp;has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cAnd behold,&nbsp;I am coming soon.&nbsp;Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>I,&nbsp;John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them,&nbsp;I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me,&nbsp;<sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>but he said to me, \u201cYou must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those&nbsp;who keep the words of this book. Worship God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>And he said to me,&nbsp;\u201cDo not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.&nbsp;<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBehold,&nbsp;I am coming soon,&nbsp;bringing my recompense with me,&nbsp;to repay each one for what he has done.&nbsp;<sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>I am the Alpha and the Omega,&nbsp;the first and the last,&nbsp;the beginning and the end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>Blessed are those who\u00a0wash their robes,\u00a0so that they may have the right to\u00a0the tree of life and that\u00a0they may enter the city by the gates.\u00a0<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>Outside are\u00a0the dogs\u00a0and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>16&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cI, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things&nbsp;for the churches.
