{"id":1740,"date":"2022-02-04T01:00:20","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T07:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.championforest.org\/devotionals\/?p=1740"},"modified":"2022-01-21T13:17:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T19:17:00","slug":"2-4-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.championforest.org\/devotionals\/2-4-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"The Essential Jesus-Day 26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-01d158d ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-basic ugb-main-block\"><style>.ugb-01d158d-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper{border-radius:12px !important;background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-01d158d-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper:before{background-color:#f1f1f1 !important}.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h1,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h2,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h3,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h4,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h5,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > h6{color:#222222}.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > p,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > ol li,.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper > ul li{color:#222222}@media screen and (min-width:768px){.ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper.ugb-container__content-wrapper{width:100% !important}}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-01d158d-wrapper ugb--shadow-3\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-01d158d-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isaiah 7:1-25<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isaiah Sent to King Ahaz<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7&nbsp;<\/strong>In the days of&nbsp;Ahaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah,&nbsp;Rezin the king of Syria and&nbsp;Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it.&nbsp;<sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup>When the house of David was told,&nbsp;\u201cSyria is in league with&nbsp;Ephraim,\u201d the heart of Ahaz&nbsp;and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup>And the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;said to Isaiah, \u201cGo out to meet Ahaz, you and&nbsp;Shear-jashub&nbsp;your son, at the end of&nbsp;the conduit of the upper pool on the highway to the Washer&#8217;s Field.&nbsp;<sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup>And say to him,&nbsp;\u2018Be careful,&nbsp;be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint because of these two&nbsp;smoldering stumps of firebrands, at the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and&nbsp;the son of Remaliah.&nbsp;<sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup>Because Syria, with Ephraim and&nbsp;the son of Remaliah, has devised evil against you, saying,&nbsp;<sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cLet us go up against Judah and terrify it, and let us conquer it&nbsp;for ourselves, and set up the son of Tabeel as king in the midst of it,\u201d&nbsp;<sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>thus says the Lord&nbsp;God:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018It shall not stand,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and it shall not come to pass.<br><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>For the head of Syria is&nbsp;Damascus,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the head of Damascus is Rezin.<br>And within sixty-five years<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ephraim will be shattered from being a people.<br><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>And the head of Ephraim is Samaria,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the head of Samaria is&nbsp;the son of Remaliah.<br>If you&nbsp;are not firm in faith,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;you will not be firm at all.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Sign of Immanuel<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>Again the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;spoke to Ahaz:&nbsp;<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cAsk&nbsp;a sign of the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;your&nbsp;God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.\u201d&nbsp;<sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>But Ahaz said, \u201cI will not ask, and I will not put the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;to the test.\u201d&nbsp;<sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>And he&nbsp;said, \u201cHear then, O house of David!
