And the people became impatient on the way.\u00a0<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>And the people\u00a0spoke against God and against Moses,\u00a0\u201cWhy have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and\u00a0we loathe this worthless food.\u201d\u00a0<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>Then the\u00a0Lord\u00a0sent fiery serpents among the people, and\u00a0they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.\u00a0<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>And the people came to Moses and said, \u201cWe have sinned, for we have spoken against the\u00a0Lord\u00a0and against you.\u00a0Pray to the\u00a0Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.\u201d So Moses prayed for the people.\u00a0<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to Moses, \u201cMake a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.\u201d\u00a0<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>So\u00a0Moses made a bronze\u00a0serpent and set it on a pole.
