He has an unhealthy craving for\u00a0controversy and for\u00a0quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,\u00a0<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>and constant friction among people\u00a0who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth,\u00a0imagining that godliness is a means of gain.\u00a0<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0godliness\u00a0with contentment is great gain,\u00a0<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>for\u00a0we brought nothing into the world, and\u00a0we cannot take anything out of the world.\u00a0<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.\u00a0<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0those who desire to be rich fall into temptation,\u00a0into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that\u00a0plunge people into ruin and destruction.\u00a0<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>For the love of money is a root of\u00a0all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fight the Good Fight of Faith<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>But as for you,\u00a0O man of God,\u00a0flee these things.\u00a0Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.\u00a0<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>Fight the good fight of the faith.\u00a0Take hold of the eternal life\u00a0to which you were called and about which you made\u00a0the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.\u00a0<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus,\u00a0who in his testimony before\u00a0Pontius Pilate made\u00a0the good confession,\u00a0<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until\u00a0the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,\u00a0<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>which he will display\u00a0at the proper time\u2014he who is\u00a0the blessed and only Sovereign,\u00a0the King of kings and Lord of lords,\u00a0<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>who alone has immortality,\u00a0who dwells in\u00a0unapproachable light,\u00a0whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion.
