Champion Forest celebrated the grand opening of its new North Klein campus student building on Saturday evening (Spanish service) and Sunday morning (English service). This new building provides an expanded and dedicated space for students to gather, worship, and build community. “It is a resource or tool that will help North Klein reach many more kids, make disciples, and fulfill Champion Forest’s focus priorities. It also adds a flexible space for the other ministries at this campus,” said Jeff Young, Champion Forest’s executive pastor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grand opening event brought together the CF student ministry staff, key lay leaders, students, and families eager to see how the new building will extend the reach of North Klein\u2019s student ministry. North Klein students have witnessed God bring remarkable growth, numerically and spiritually, with over 100 students baptized in recent years. Sammie, a senior student, shared, \u201cWe\u2019ve had to meet in the worship center because we outgrew our old building. It will be awesome to have a space big enough to fit our growing student ministry.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This building expansion reflects Champion Forest\u2019s vision to foster growth while addressing the limitations of the previous student facility. \u201cI\u2019m pumped for the opportunities this new space provides for students to come together, not just to grow in number but in their walk with the Lord,\u201d said Justin Holcomb, Champion Forest\u2019s student pastor. \u201cIt\u2019s a safe place to invite friends, and I\u2019m just excited to see what God\u2019s going to do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Pemberton, North Klein campus student pastor, echoed Justin Holcomb\u2019s excitement\u2014not just for a new building but for the potential for God to do a new and fresh thing among the students in North Klein. \u201cI\u2019m so excited and expectant for God to continue doing a new and fresh thing in the lives of these students,\u201d he shared, \u201cand I can\u2019t wait for the fun we will have as we glorify the Lord together.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students are just as thrilled about the possibilities the new building offers. Peyton, a junior, shared that she loves being able to worship with her friends in a large group, but the space still feels intimate enough to deepen their community. \u201cWe no longer have to split up across the campus into separate life groups, and I\u2019m going to enjoy that.\u201d Peyton\u2019s friend and fellow junior, Brianna, added, \u201cAnd there\u2019s pickleball!\u201d The addition of pickleball and volleyball courts certainly adds to the overall excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday morning was led by Senior Pastor Jarrett Stephens, along with Jeff Young (executive pastor), Stephen Morris (North Klein campus pastor), Brett Mosser (North Klein pastor of ministries), Justin Holcomb (student pastor), and Adam Pemberton (North Klein campus student pastor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Gonzalez, North Klein\u2019s middle school and bilingual pastor, reflected on the grand opening as a tangible example of God\u2019s faithfulness and provision. \u201cThe Lord heard our prayers and has given us an incredible building. Just last week, we learned about God as Jehovah Jireh, and today, North Klein students can tangibly see the Lord as the Provider.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the addition of this beautiful facility, Adam Pemberton concluded the grand opening ceremony by reminding students and leaders that the new building is just the beginning. \u201cWith over 16,000 students in Klein ISD alone, our church will continue doing all it can to advance the Kingdom by making disciples in the next generation, right here in North Klein.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Growing up, Ana Alonso attended a Catholic Church, but for whatever reason, she never really felt connected. She thought she couldn't have a relationship with Jesus. This all changed when her aunt invited her to a new church. Ana was struck by the beauty of this new church. The way they worshipped God and talked about Scripture opened her eyes and heart. It made her want to start going to church more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But soon after this, she found herself in an unhealthy relationship. This relationship eventually led her astray, and she stopped going to church. She focused so much on this relationship that she quickly lost herself. She wrestled with depression and anxiety during this season, and to make matters worse, her mom was also going through her own mental health battle. It was a difficult period in Ana\u2019s life. She felt like everything was spiraling out of control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day, she had a terrible argument with her mom, and in a moment of intense emotion, she found herself yelling at her mom. She had become someone she didn't recognize. \u201cI don\u2019t yell at my family like this,\u201d she thought to herself. She was devastated and heartbroken that she had let things get to this point. In a state of despair, she left and headed to a nearby park, alone. At the park, she just cried. \u201cThere\u2019s no hope left for me,\u201d she thought. She felt like the only way out was to end her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst her desperation, she turned to God and whispered for help. She apologized for distancing herself from him and asked for strength to endure. Moments later, two older ladies walked towards her. As they approached, Ana couldn't stop crying, until one of them reached out her hand and placed it on Ana\u2019s shoulder. The woman spoke softly, saying, \"I'm so sorry.\" Ana knew God had answered her prayer. It was the spark of hope she needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, Ana\u2019s relationship with Jesus and her faith has grown tremendously. Of course, it has been a journey, but Ana has seen God\u2019s faithfulness time and time again. She set a goal to begin reading the Bible daily, and now she can't wait to read it every day. Even in times of frustration or bitterness, she will pray or go to her Bible, asking God for answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But her journey didn't end there. She eventually found her way to The Grove, a young adult gathering at Champion Forest. She started attending regularly. Now, she serves at the Grove as part of the weekly hospitality team. She continues to meet new people each week who share her hunger for the Lord. When asked about her time at the Grove, Ana said, \u201cWe worship Jesus together and discuss Scripture, and I've even had the chance to pray over others. Being part of this community has been a huge blessing for me, and I believe it was completely the Holy Spirit guiding me to this place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana\u2019s testimony is a good reminder that no matter how lost you may feel, God is always with you. He will guide you and give you the strength you need to get through even the toughest of times. It's okay to ask for help, to pray, and to turn to God in moments of desperation. It's also important to surround yourself with a community that shares your faith, where you can grow together in
