Our purpose as a choir and orchestra is to lead in worship. To assure that what we wear doesn't distract from that purpose, we have some basic guidelines for clothing we need to follow. We dress in a contemporary and youthful style that is in common colors. Our intent is to present unity and for us not to do anything that draws attention to any one person and away from the worship.

A simple style of outfit is always best - focus on a vibrant and younger look. What we wear should look modern and be consistent with what others wear. It is usually best to dress in solid colors and avoid prints and patterns. Patterns tend to draw attention away from the group - be very careful and only wear small prints. Because of the cameras, it is best not to wear solid white shirts without a vest or jacket. If you don't have the particular color for that week available, you can ALWAYS wear solid black.

The following guidelines will help us present the right image.

Women

• Make sure you have some basic solid black items in your wardrobe - pants, skirts, shirts, simple jacket or plain black dress.
• Solid colors are ALWAYS best - try to keep solid color shirts and blouses available.
• Avoid tight fitting clothes - tops and pants need be LOOSE fit - spandex fabric should not be worn. No skinny pants...
• Dresses or Skirts must be long (5-6 inches BELOW the knee or full length).
• No sleeveless tops or short "cap" sleeves - please wear LONG sleeves
• Skirts without slits are preferred.
• Blouses or dresses should not be low cut!
• Jewelry should be kept simple.
• Sandals may be worn with pants but should be dress sandals - avoid casual sandals.
• Wear the proper foundations - always wear a slip - there are lights on stage that show through fabric
• Make sure you have color on your face - especially blush and lipstick. The lights on the stage will wash out your face very easily.
• NO white blouses please - you can wear a vest or jacket with a white blouse - do not wear a white shirt alone.

Men

• Solid color pants and solid color shirts are always best
• Pants should be in a dress style - not casual or jean type material
• Black vests always look nice and can be worn with most colors we use.
• Long sleeve shirts or a jacket.
• Dress shoes should be worn - do not wear athletic shoes
• NO white shirts please - you can wear a vest or jacket with a white shirt - do not wear a white shirt alone.
