2008 Champion Forest Christmas Projects

Angel Tree

An opportunity to give Christmas gifts to children of inmates. You pick an angel from our tree at the Missions Booth and then shop for the angel.

  • Determine how many Angels your class will adopt. (Price for gifts is $50 per angel)
  • Go to the Missions Booth in the Atrium (beside the library) and pick out the angels you would like to adopt.
  • Sign the angel out with the volunteer at the Missions Booth
  • Follow the detailed instructions you will receive from the volunteer.

Caring Angel

An opportunity to minister to assisted living and nursing home residents of Heartland Nursing Center. You will shop for the resident you pick from our tree at the Missions Booth.

  • Determine how many Angels your class will adopt. (Price for gifts is $30 - 40 per angel)
  • Go to the Missions Booth in the Atrium (beside the library) and pick out the angels you would like to adopt.
  • Sign the angel out with the volunteer at the Missions Booth
  • Follow the detailed instructions you will receive from the volunteer.

H.O.P.E

An opportunity to provide gently used or new men’s coats and blankets for the homeless in the downtown area.

  • Your class will collect gently used and new men’s coats and blankets.
  • You will deliver the items to the Missions Booth in the Atrium on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, or Sunday, December 21, 2008

Open Door Mission

An opportunity to assist the clients for Open Door Mission to provide gifts for their children and grandchildren.

  • Purchase toys for children of all ages. You determine the price and quantity. You will not be shopping for a specific child.
  • Deliver your unwrapped toys to the Missions Booth on Sunday, December 7, 2008, or Wednesday, December 10, 2008.

Mission Greenspoint

An opportunity to provide gifts for the Children’s Christmas Store at Mission Greenspoint.

  • Determine how many Angels your class will adopt. (Price for each angel is $25 - 55 per angel)
  • Go to the Missions Booth in the Atrium (beside the library) and pick out the angels you would like to adopt.
  • Sign the angel out with the volunteer at the Missions Booth
  • Follow the detailed instructions you will receive from the volunteer.

Opportunities to Volunteer at Missions Greenspoint

  • Volunteer to set up Christmas store the week of Dec. 8 – 11, 2008
  • Work Christmas store on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, 9 AM – 4 PM.
  • Two shifts: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm and 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Registration – 5 people to check-in clients as they arrive and connect with shopping guide.
  • Shopping Guides – 10 – 15 people to take clients around to make their gift selection, and make sure they follow the Christmas Store rules for gifts.
  • Table Overseers – 10-15 people to replenish gift tables throughout the day and direct guides and shoppers to the correct table.
  • Evangelism – The gospel will be presented to all shoppers before they go shopping.
  • Childcare – 10-12 people to care for kids while their parents are shopping
  • Gift Wrappers – 20-25 people wrap and label all the gifts for the parents
  • Hospitality – As parents wait for next available shopping guide they will wait in the hospitality room where cookies, coffee etc will be served.
  • Tear Down – 20-25 people clean building.
  • Lunch – Provide lunch for approximately 200 people.
  • Refreshments – Provide cookies and drinks for the Hospitality area approximately 400 people.
