Celebrating 30 years of service at Champion Forest
Randy Barnett is celebrating his 30th anniversary this year as the Director of Facilities at Champion Forest Baptist Church. Randy’s love for the church and continuous passion to serve the church through maintaining and keeping CFBC’s facilities clean is an easily overlooked blessing for the members of CFBC.
Every Sunday, Randy is the first person on campus. He arrives at 4am to turn on coffee pots, unlock doors, check classrooms, and bake chocolate chip cookies for the greeters and ushers. During the week, Randy normally moves quickly to attend construction meetings or fix a problem in one of the buildings, but as he passes by, he always gives a big smile and a friendly hello.
Randy and his facilities team do many things to take care of the facilities. From cleaning restrooms and installing door stops to maintaining A/C units and climbing on top of the worship center to repair gutters, Randy ensures everything is running smoothly.
When asked about his favorite times at Champion Forest, Randy quickly focused on one: seeing his kids come to know Christ here. He spoke glowingly about what the church did for his family, specifically how the children's and preschool ministries taught his kids about Jesus. Always one to defer credit to others, Randy reminded everyone that what happens inside of the buildings matters most. And Randy's tireless work has made it possible.
We are proud to have Randy on staff as the Director of Facilities, and he does a great job keeping the campus maintained and cleaned every week. Take a second to stop and notice a light fixture or a clean window or maybe even a classroom with chairs set out in lines. These are all tangible reminders of what Randy Barnett and his wonderful facilities crew do for Champion Forest Baptist Church.
