FAQs

How does drop-off and pick-up work?

Bottom line: it’s up to you! During Life Groups we do have a check-in system in each department, but there is no parent involvement needed (unless of course you would like to see how it works, then you are more than welcome to walk your student to their department room)!

How do Life Groups work?

For our 6th-8th graders, Life Groups are broken down by grade and gender. For 9th-12th graders, Life Groups are co-ed and broken down by grade. Each group is led by one or two of our student ministry leaders and typically has 10-15 students. Students and leaders remain with the same group for one school year and then move up to the next grade where they will be placed in a new group.

What’s my role as a parent in the Champion Forest Student Ministry?

Our goal is to see students follow Jesus for a lifetime. We do that by partnering with parents to disciple their students. We believe that parents are the primary disciplers of their children (Deut. 6, Eph. 6). As the Student Ministry, we desire to partner, support, and come alongside you as you seek to disciple your children. Our team wants to serve you and your students faithfully, as committed, trusted adults who can encourage your students and point them to truth as they seek to follow Jesus. With that being said, parents building a relationship with their student’s Life Group leaders is a great place to start since they are the ones investing in the life of your student in a small group setting week in and week out. Who are the volunteers leading Life Groups?

Our Life Group leaders are members of CFBC who are committed to faithfully following Jesus and pouring into the lives of students. We take the safety and protection of our students and leaders very seriously, so each leader has completed an interview process with the Student Ministry Staff, as well as a background check (renewed every 2 years) and our Safe and Secure Training. Life Groups could not happen without our leaders, and we are thankful for the way they teach truth, encourage students, and share the gospel and their lives with their group.
