This year your kids can participate in a league that will redefine the word winner. Today's sports culture has created a "win at all cost" mentality, but Upward Sports show that winning is learning lessons in the game of life.  As a parent, you play a very important role in building the self-esteem and character of your child and every child in this league. Players look to their parents, coaches, and referees as models for sportsmanship, respect for authority, and positive attitudes. By being a positive participant in this league, you will provide a lasting effect in these children that will live well beyond the end of this season.


About the 2011-2012 Season

Registration begins August 29

The early registration cost per child for basketball is $85; after October 24, the cost is $95.

Basketball shorts are optional at a cost of $12.

Cheerleading mock turtlenecks are optional at a cost of $12.

Deadline for registration is November 1st.


Season Schedule

Practices begin the week of Monday, November 28, 2011.

First Game - Friday, January 6, 2012, or Saturday, January 7, 2012

Awards Celebration - Sunday, February 26, 2012


Evaluation Nights (Every child must attend the evaluations)

1st and 2nd Grade Boys/Girls

Saturday, October 29, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

3rd and 4th Grade Boys/Girls

Saturday, October 29, between 10:30 a.m.. and 12:00 p.m.

5th and 6th Grade Boys/Girls

Tuesday, November 1, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Makeup Evaluations

Tuesday, November 1, between 6:00 and 7:30 pm

Upward Basketball Instructional League (Kindergarten)

  • Instructional League is available for those children enrolled in Kindergarten for 2011-12
  • Maximum number of participants is 40 (boys & girls)
  • Teams will be CoEd.
  • They will meet on Friday nights.
  • This will be a camp format with a major focus on learning the fundamentals of basketball.
  • Each day they will have skill development, drills, and eventually a controlled game.
  • The success of the Instructional league is based on 4 Parent Coaches per team.  Please Volunteer!!!

Every player receives an Upward T-shirt, Reversible Mesh Jersey, Shorts, Upward Winner Magazine, Upward Basketball Car Magnet, Music CD, Individual Award after each practice and game, and an End of the Season Award.

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is for kids ages kindergarten through 6th Grade Boys/Girls. (Must be 5 years old before September 1, 2012.)
