Freedom Weekend | Jersey Village
January 17, 2020 - January 19, 2020
What is Freedom Weekend? Freedom Weekend is a 2-day retreat for all middle and high school students who are desiring to grow deeper in their walk with the Lord and with each other. Students will have time for community, worship, and personal connection time with a group leader.
This year’s theme is “then what?” Students have a tendency to put a ton of pressure on themselves to achieve success in academics, sports, as well as socially. But then what? This Freedom Weekend we will focus on shifting our perspective from earthly to eternal We’ll look at relevant Scripture passages such as the Rich Young Ruler in Luke 18. Ultimately, we want to follow Jesus in everything we do and bring glory to Him. Join us as we worship through song, the preaching of the Word and spend time in small groups as we seek to follow Jesus together.
When is Freedom Weekend? While Freedom weekend happens at each of our campuses, locations and times vary. For the Jersey Village campus, the event lasts 2 days beginning Friday (January 17th) and ending on Sunday (January 19th). For more information concerning times, see the schedule below.
Where is Freedom Weekend? Freedom Weekend happens at various locations throughout the weekend. Students lodge in approved homes in the Jersey Village area. For the safety of our students and our host homes, addresses are not publicly given out until the day of the event. Staff and Adult leaders help transport students from their homes to events throughout the weekend. Each adult and host home involved in the weekend goes through a background check and safe and secure training. For more information concerning locations, see the schedule below.
Does my student have to stay for the whole weekend? While we encourage all students to disconnect from their hectic lives for the whole weekend, we do have time away cards should a student need to be picked up from the event for an approved circumstance.
